The Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor. Primary responsibilities include innovative teaching in courses spanning the biochemistry curriculum, including our capstone biochemistry laboratory course. We seek candidates who will develop engaging, evidence-based teaching programs that support the success of all students, and who will excel in cooperative teaching of large-enrollment undergraduate courses. Applicants must have completed a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, or a related field; have experience and expertise in experimental biochemistry and molecular biology research; have demonstrated excellence in teaching lecture or laboratory courses; and have an interest in advancing educational innovation. This position is a full-time, benefits eligible, 9-month, fixed-term faculty position with an initial appointment of four years.
