The Biology Education Research team at Auburn University seeks a full-time postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on several projects related to undergraduate education. The successful candidate will be advised by Cissy Ballen and will be part of NSF-funded projects through the Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) program (read more about the project here). The candidate will join a vibrant team spanning Auburn University, Michigan State University (PI Liz Schultheis), and University at Buffalo (co-PI Robin Costello) to address several research questions related to undergraduate biology education and the effective elements of scientist role models. Additionally, the successful applicant will be encouraged to develop projects based on their own interests and collaborate with others in the group and the IUSE research team:

Requested Qualifications

  • The position requires either a PhD in Biology/STEM/STEM education with a demonstrated interest in biology education.
  • We are interested in candiates with quantitative and/or qualitative expertise.
  • Candidates should have experience with study design development, evidence of scholarly writing skills, and the ability to work well as part of a highly collaborative team.
