The Department of Biology at New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (9-month, tenure track position, starting August 2025) in Biology Education Research. The successful candidate will join a department with a strong commitment to research, education, and training in Biology, as well as a successful record of evidence-based curriculum reform to improve student success. Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. in Biology, Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER), or a related field; a minimum of one year of postdoctoral experience; experience in DBER; and a strong record of research productivity commensurate with experience. The ideal applicant will conduct Biology Education Research, develop and implement new curricula, and establish a sustainable, externally funded research program at NMSU.

NMSU is a public, land-grant, Hispanic-Serving Institution, in Las Cruces, NM. The Department of Biology offers undergraduate majors in Biology, Conservation Ecology, Genetics and Biotechnology, and Microbiology as well as MS and PhD degrees in Biology. Opportunities exist to participate in externally funded training programs and faculty development, as well as participate in the NMSU STEM Education Research Institute (https://seri.nmsu.edu/index.html).
