The Department of Biology at Texas Wesleyan University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. This is a full-time appointment beginning in August 2026.
- Position Description: Primary teaching responsibilities (15 contact hours/semester) includeteaching the lecture and laboratory section(s) for the following courses: Evolution and Ecology,Conservation Biology, Biostatistics, and a general education science course as needed. Our department values undergraduate research and mentoring and the candidate will contribute to collaborative research methods courses for undergraduate biology majors. Additional requirements include advising students, pursuing scholarship in the field (teaching or research-based) and service to the University and community.
- Qualifications: A Ph.D. in biology with a specialty in environmental science or related field is required at the time of appointment. Teaching experience is also required and training or experience in current active learning techniques and best practices expected. Candidates who have college-level teaching and post-doctoral research experience are preferred.

We offer student-focused courses to support Biology majors, pre-health majors, andBiology/Secondary Education majors, as well as general education science courses to supportthe University.
