Illinois College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biology with a focus on human health to begin August 2027.
The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in undergraduate education in the classroom and laboratory, and be enthusiastic about contributing to a first-year science curriculum for biology, nursing, and health sciences majors. Primary teaching duties include general biology and courses related to human health, which might include introductory microbiology, anatomy & physiology, and/or pathophysiology. There are opportunities to develop new courses in the area of the candidate’s specialization. The successful candidate will provide research opportunities for Illinois College undergraduates, as undergraduate research is a critical component of the mission of the Illinois College Biology Department.
Doctorate (or ABD) in biology or a related field.
