Assistant Teaching Professor - Biology

Boise State University’s Department of Biological Sciences invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) position. Although non-tenure track, the position offers salary and promotion opportunities similar to those of tenure-track faculty, including advancement to associate and full teaching professor . The primary teaching duties will include lower division biology courses, such as Introductory Biology I: Cell and Molecular Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Microbiology, or Introductory Biology II: Diversity of Life. The position may also include instruction of upper-division undergraduate courses such as Cell Biology or Molecular Biology lab. The workload assignment is approximately 80% teaching and 20% departmental service, which translates to the equivalent of four 3-credit classes each semester, with adjustments that take into account other workload factors such as class size. Teaching Faculty play a critical role in curriculum development. They manage laboratory courses and support the teaching of graduate student teaching assistants.
